Councillors in Tuzi Municipal Assembly yesterday unanimously backed the resolution of the Democratic Union of Albanians to protect the Cijevna River. Enis Đokaj emphasized the resolution had no political background as it completely refers to the protection of the river.

A councilor of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Halil Duković, told Tuzi would have been totally different if it hadn’t been for the Cijevna River. “It is one of the clearest rivers in Europe. This resolution represents a call for our friends in Albania to take care of it. Montenegro and Albania cherish friendly relations and I have no doubts both countries will find an appropriate solution,” Duković said.

Nik Đeljošaj of the Albanian Alternative (AA) told he totally backed the idea of preserving the Cijevna River due to numerous reasons, while his party counterpart Smailj Čunmuljaj said Malesia would’t be so beautiful if it wasn’t for river Cijevna. A councilor of the Democrats, Štjefan Camaj, said his party was going to support this initiative as well.

The decision on the number of councilors was also adopted at the yesterday’s session, so now there will be 32 of them in the Tuzi Municipal Assembly.
