The Organizing Committee also decided to change the route of the Parade, compared to the one that was used during the previous two years.
The Organizing Committee said it is essential that the Parade passes through the center of Podgorica, adding that its exact route will be chosen in consultation with representatives of the Police Department.
“We believe there are now conditions for peaceful holding of the third Montenegro Pride, and that we will be able to walk the streets of Podgorica on Sunday, December 13th, with our fellow citizens, our friends, family members and supporters of our basic human rights, peacefully and freely, for every other Montenegrin municipality where this would not be possible, and for every other LGBTQ person in Montenegro, forced to live their life hidden and in fear”, the statement said.
Queer Montenegro reminded a peaceful assembly of the LGBTQ community was originally planned for October, but due to the complex political situation in the society, Montenegro Pride was postponed for December.
