As promised, implementation of the Law on the Amendments to the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance is set to begin. Pension and Disability insurance Fund has created pre-conditions for calculation and payment of the lowest pensions with double the check for July.
“A total of 12.318 pensioners, with pensions amounting to €128,82 will receive a check for the amount of €247,47, while 3.586 pensioners with €128,83 will receive the amount of their previous pension, until the moment amount of the lowest pension was established”, Government’s statement reads.
On 15 July, Prime Minister said that the Government had decided to establish proposal for the Law on the Amendments to the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance, which envisages increase in the nominal amount of the lowest pension by over 13% and additional €135 million for the purposes of the Law and improvement of material position of our pensioners.
“This proposal for the law is the expression of our care for the pensioners. It ensures righteousness and adequacy of giving, while eliminating the least favorable years in the calculation of pensions”, the statement said.
Apart from advantages referring to the amount of pensions, the Law establishes new manner of adjusting pensions.
