Attacks on Bosniaks in Pljevlja continue unabated. Premises of the Islamic community in Pljevlja were target last might. Unknown perpetrators broke glass on the building and left message of frightening content: …”Pljevlja will become Srebrenica”.
The main Imam of the Mejlis in Pljevlja, Samir Kadribašić, posted on Facebook this morning photos of ate attack. He warned about even more serious consequences if nationalistic rampage doesn’t stop.
“The red line was crossed. I can’t control anybody. I have been trying, calming people down, appealing for common sense, but I can’t do that anymore. God help us”, Mr Kadribačić said.
Although several incidents and attacks on Bosniaks took place in Pljevlja, Mr Kadribašić says they are alone in danger.
“Everybody’s in danger. I tried to attribute this to post-election euphoria, but this isn’t euphoria anymore. This is fascism and nobody feels safe. I received so many calls this morning. Nobody feels safe”, he added.
He sent a clear message to chief of police in Pljevlja.
“I told him that he would be held accountable if this case remained unsolved. He answered “it is the fault of social media”. Well, it’s not the fault of social media. Where were day to stop the mob, cursing and provoking around the town?”, Imam says.
He also sent message to Mr Dritan Abazović.
“Montenegro could make a huge step backward. I forwarded photos to Dritan. He saw them. If he thinks this is our future, then he is free to do whatever he wants. He replied with only one word – “Terrible”. That was all”, Mr Kadribašić said.
He reiterated that this situation reminded him of the 1990s. However, he hopes reason will prevail.
