In only 10 months of 2020, 43 road deaths happened in Montenegro, the National Police announced on the occasion of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

“Unsuitable and unadjusted vehicle speed is still one of the most common reason for road accidents. Research and analysis of road accidents show that in one third of all road accidents and in more than 50 percent of fatal accidents, unsuitable and high vehicle speed was the main cause of the accident (OECD/ECMIT, 2006)”, they noted.

As announced earlier, in order to mark the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, the National Police – Road Traffic Safety Department, alongside the National Bureau of Insurers of Montenegro and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering – Center for Road Traffic Education, is going to launch the campaign ‘Slow down, save your life’ from 10 to 20 November 2020.

“The goal of the campaign is to once again draw the attention of the public and all traffic participants to the consequences of road traffic accidents and trauma that they cause, both in injured people, their families, as well as families whose loved ones were killed in them, i.e. the society as a whole,” they stated.
