Condemnation from everywhere
TV show which welcomed me as a guest two days ago has stirred up public attention. Unfortunately, not because of what I was saying but because of the question and statement made by journalist Tamara Nikčević regarding U.S. Ambassador. Ms Nikčević triggered off sharp reaction of the public, opposition and governing parties, civil sector, the U.S. Embassy and finally, RTCG Council. Everybody harshly condemned Ms Nikčević0s words, and even the procedure for the establishment of accountability has been initiated. As I said during the program, I had that pleasure to exchange my views with Ambassador Reinke on several occasions and based on what I know, I am sure she couldn’t have said such things about Montenegro.
As I posted on my Facebook profile, the fact that one part of the public has adopted the narrative that Montenegro was left in the lurch, that we are forgotten and handed over to Serbia is very dangerous. Not only is it stupid, but it’s also dangerous because such a narrative is pushing one part of the political spectrum into isolated nationalism. That favors only those who don’t wish Montenegro well.
Expelling Božović was a mistake?
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Đorđe Radulović, said yesterday that expelling Serbian ambassador, Mr Vladimir Božović, was a hasty decision. SDP’s Mirko Stanić has criticized minister for the second time, this time claiming that denying hospitality to Mr Božović was actually came too late.
On the other side, Socialist People’s Party and Democratic People’s Party called on the Minister to withdraw that decision. Minister explained why it was impossible.
Appointing Vladimir Božović as ambassador was a sort of provocation, as his political activism in MNE has been known since the time he welcomed Nikola Kavaja. His term of office was marked with numerous scandals. The new Government must never sacrifice Montenegro’s dignity for the sake of cooperating more closely with Serbia.
Staff solutions
And while ministers are talking with the parties about political appointments, CDM reveals you data about some interesting staff solutions in the new government.
After Democrats stated yesterday that appointment of URA functionaries means that agreement is being violated, representatives of the Movement for Changes and DF said the same. Young Mr Kopitović, from DF, said that “the Government was formed to dismantle DDF, save DPS and protect Đukanović family and what they took away from the people”. Although very young, he is resuming the rhetoric of his older counterpart, Mr Medojević, and even uses his terms to deal with the coalition partners whom he doesn’t have good relations with. Mr Branko Radulović said among other things that “experts came, but many of them are not experts”.
Prime Minister’s activities
PM criticized RTCG editorial policy and called for the return of the TV to the citizens. Apart from that, visit to Brussels will take place next week.
Kosovo*
Although Health Ministry provided a very innocent explanation for the alleged technical mistake they made, several CDM interlocutors don’t really buy that.
