The Church and the Law
IN4S was the first medium to release the news last night that URA Main Committee decided to support amendments to the Law on Freedom of Religion, whereby the SOC will be put in the dominant position among religious communities in Montenegro. The first question to ask is: how does it happen that a pro-Kremlin portal, which is financed from Serbia, is the first to have that information.
President of the Association of Lawyers of Montenegro, Mr Branislav Radulović, has criticized the absence of public consultation regarding the adoption of the law.
Bishop Joanikije said in the interview with Svetigora that the amendments to the law had been supervised.
The church and measures
Health Minister, Dr Jelena Borovinić-Bojović, has justified the selectivity of measures by stating it is constitutional right to freedom of religion, and this was subject of criticism of the representatives of civil sector. DPS also criticized new measures. And while we are really risking to become a society which adapts its public policies to the desires of the church, you can just take a look at some measures adopted in other countries.
Negative reactions of embassies?
After first reactions of support and will for helping the new government in taking the first steps in difficult position, looks like a handbrake is taken off due to the actions of the new majority.
Srebrenica
The Srebrenica topic hasn’t been closed yet as a great part of governing politicians are publicly denying the genocide. After Bosniak party initiated the adoption of the resolution on Srebrenica, president of the Parliament, Mr Aleksa Bečić, said that Srebrenica” is a genocide, the way he sees it” and that he would avoid hyper-production of declarations.
Serious accusations
After DF member, Mr Milo Božović, made new accusations that DPS functionaries ordered murders, he reacted again yesterday by demanding dismissals in the defense sector. After Mr Božović’s statement, DPS members made serious accusations relating to him working for the Serbian intelligence service, trading illegal substances and hanging out with criminal clans.
Drama of URA and DF in Budva
After DF kicked URA out of the coalition in Budva, URA started slowly but surely to criticize the administration of Mr Bato Carević. This time they criticized the illegal payment of salaries to Waterworks. However, URA currently has no power in Budva and its critics mean nothing. The same is at the state level.
That’s all for today. Have a nice day.
