She said that talks of political corruption are just “empty ramblings of the opposition“.
“Deafening noise they are making is tragic and comic at the same time. Logical arguments are not their stronger suit. Enough with ramblings of political corruption, it is time for a language or reason and numbers that are merciless”, Jasavić said to MINA agency.
According to her, political corruption, as explained by Joseph Nye, is a deviant behavior of public officials.
“Let us see, what was deviant in the behavior of Positive Montenegro representatives? It is a crucial question and it demands a clear answer”, Jasavić said.
As she stated, Positive was formed to support peaceful and democratic changes in leadership, when they said they would not deal ”with this leadership, nor this opposition”.
Positive’s agenda, Jasavić said, earned trust of around 30 thousand voters, which gave this party 7 representative seats.
“Who are the voters of Positive and whose voter body are we inflicting? In order to get a clear answer, we must look at the parliamentary elections of 2009 and 2012”, Jasavić said.
She reminded that the elections of 2009 had DPS with partners win 52 mandates, while opposition won 29, while in 2012 DPS won 45 and opposition, without Positive, won 29 mandates again.
“It is not hard to conclude that the opposition has been stuck in one place for years, and they only when Positive entered the picture, it got stronger and reached 36 mandates”, Jasavić pointed out.
Positive’s mandates were gained, as she said, mostly with former voters of DPS and their partners, those who abstained and those who are ”die-hard” opposition voters.
“Seven mandates Positive has were gained by aware voters from the lines of leadership, because they disagreed with deviations in the system created by the irreplaceable leadership and decadence of ethical values that were visible in every step. At the same time, these voters were expecting state interests to be protected, trends of May 21st continued, and sustainable development of EU integration”, Jasavić said.
According to her, the reason to be angry is not given to ”die-hard” voters, because their votes were in the hands of those representatives who were no longer part of Positive Montenegro.
“Political account is crystal clear, and there is no reason for anger and resentment to Positive”, Jasavić said.
Those who voted for Positive were expecting, above all, to change the bad leadership and preserve the state.
“They expected fair conditions for the elections and efficient fight against corruption and organized crime, which is a condition for decrease of poverty and successful continuation of EU integration”, Jasavić was clear.
She pointed out that Positive met those expectations.
Jasavić reminded that crisis management plan of Positive was accepted, and that it will be the first time in three decades that the opposition will have the possibility to control the leadership in order to prevent further abuse of state money in party purposes, which is a condition for free and fair elections.
As she said, the leadership showed that it is ready to open the door to changes, by accepting Positive’s plan.
“Is the state preserved? Yes. Had the Prosecution started a fight against corruption and organized crime on the high level, as a condition for decrease in poverty, and as a result of constitutional and legal changes that Positive supported? Yes. Have we gotten an invitation for NATO? Yes. Did that preserve peace and stability? Yes, completely”, Jasavić explained.
According to her, out of 7 representatives of Positive, only three had the strength to believe in the agenda of their party and the important processes that were carried out until the end, with the help of officials, membership and supporters.
“We did not betray our voters, who do not desire no one’s ”political head”, but we ushered in a time for changes and justice for everyone in Montenegro. We preserved basic ideas of Positive, that gathered us four years ago”, Jasavić pointed out.
This is way the behavior of three representatives is not deviant, they are in accordance with the agenda of the party and voters’ expectations, that used to ”vote for the bad leadership that they were aware must change, but their priorities were in peace, stability and safety of Montenegro”.
“Positive succeeded! We had the keys to political stability of Montenegro. We proved this. If we acted differently than what our agenda and goals are, it is then that are behavior would be deviant, and that would be a good basis to have doubts of political corruption”, Jasavić said.
She said that those representatives of Positive ”that changed teams and went to parties of media bullies” are the ones who are politically corrupted.
“Traditional opposition and their talk of political corruption is but an echo in empty political cups, that serves to disturb the peace of citizens, because that is all they can offer them”, Jasavić thinks.
As she said, traditional opposition with their newest repertoire of nonsense is trying to deny rights to a free political attitude of any and all political subjects that are different from their own agenda, that they try to bring forward with great support of centers of power outside of Montenegro.
Jasavić said that this kind of behavior of traditional opposition will not be accepted by Positive.
She said that the fate and future of the country will be decided by its citizens, and those political subjects who earn their major support.
“Finally, we do not expect flowers from colleagues in the opposition, but we must say to them ”do not be afraid of hate of humans, but of the hate you carry in your soul”, Jasavić concluded.
