NATO ensures that our confidential information is protected on a daily basis, and for this purpose we have special procedures which include an individual check of every Ally, said NATO Deputy Secretary General, Mircea Geoană, in an interview for Pobjeda daily.

Having in mind the recent leak of classified information of an ally in Montenegro, NATO says that they have special mechanisms to protect classified information. Asked about the mechanisms, Mr Geoană said that classified information is being protected.

Asked by Pobjeda if the situation that happened in Montenegro undermined the confidence of Allies in our country and whether it was going to affect future collaboration with the Alliance, he said that he appreciated Podgorica’s contribution.

“Montenegro is a highly appreciated Ally. We welcome your country’s sustained contribution to our common security and the consolidation of stability in the Western Balkans.”
