Weber: Appointments of members of Prosecutorial Council before holidays not the best option

Robert Veber

Planned appointments in the Prosecutorial Council right before the start of holidays is not the best option for ensuring broad consensus. It rather threatens a two-thirds majority for further appointments in the justice system, the German Ambassador to Montenegro, Robert Weber, stated.

“After we’ve already criticized the adopted Law on Amendments to the Law on State Prosecutor’s Office, primarily because not all recommendations of the Venice Commission aiming to depoliticize the judiciary were incorporated, now the focus is on the implementation of the aforementioned law,” Mr Weber said.
