The ministry adds it has timely finished its activities related to the Plan of Temporary Facilities, adopted in December 2015.
“The goal was that among other activities, all beaches are refurbished, equipped and put into operation for this tourism season by 1 May. Therefore, despite the problems which have unfortunately slowed down the whole process, we estimate that it will be completed within the time limits and that conditions for successful forthcoming summer season will be created”, the ministry stated.
As the ministry said, the Public Enterprise for Coastal Zone Management has initiated the process of reviewing responsibilities due to the mistake that occurred.
“In addition, the professional services of the Coastal Zone have been ordered to submit complete information on the progress and implementation of tender procedure to the public enterprise’s Steering Committee, which would be further sent to the ministry and the government. After that, further steps will be specified, in accordance with the law”, the ministry concluded.
The issues of beaches lease appeared because the lease tenders and the decisions of the Coastal Zone Management’s Steering Committee have not been harmonized in certain parts.
The director of the public enterprise Mihajlo Djurovic resigned because of the mistake, whereas the company’s Steering Committee suggested the tender commissions for beaches in the municipalities of Budva, Kotor, Tivat and Bar continue and end the started processes in accordance with the tenders.
