The Central Bank of Montenegro didn’t give consent for the election of Nebojsa Medojevic of the Movement for Changes, PzP, as a member of the Prva Banka Board, Pobjeda daily reports.
Mr Medojevic was proposed for that position by the Electric Power Company of Montenegro, EPCG, having 19.7% of ownership in Prva Banka. The CBCG regulations suggest that a candidate must possess at least three years of experience in managerial positions in the banking sector or four years of experience in financial institutions or five years of experience in the area of economy. In addition, there mustn’t be a criminal charge against a candidate, whereas Mr Medojevic has been accused of money laundering.
