How Dritan has reconciled us
Just to sign the Fundamental Agreement and then the reconciliation takes effect. This is how the Prime Minister presented us his decision that the act of formalizing the relationship between the church and the state should be the priority over all the state priorities, for which he was ready to sacrifice the progress of Montenegro as an EU member, as well as the survival of his government.
It was as if, God forbid, Dritan was bewitched by the thought that by signing this document, all the frustrations, discontents and divisions that had been accumulating for decades, if not centuries in our society, would miraculously disappear.
It somehow happened that the signing of the Agreement coincided with the celebration of the anniversary of the military-police operation Storm, which is considered a crime in Serbia, so in the midst of the raised tensions, part of the citizens of Serbian nationality in Montenegro were the ones who this time lost their nerves, although this was expected from Montenegrins. It was expected that the Montenegrins would react violently and recklessly, but that did not happen. The citizens expressed their protest in a dignified manner.
Hecklers and death threats
Instead, hysteria started from the other side. Because of my review of The Storm, which I share every year at this time, since social media has existed, I received a barrage of insults and threats, some of the worst of which I reported to the police.
Apart from this, they started faking my tweets in order to provoke some people to do stupid things. Thus, a certain Ranko Djurisic, a man known to the public as part of the criminal milieu, started with a barrage of insults and threats from his profile, and the profiles connected to him also started publishing videos with weapons, so that in the end it all ended with an invitation to hunt me down.
One of those profiles, which has since been deleted, contained a collection of insults and threats against many public figures. SDP thus targeted a month-old publication in which Rasko Konjevic and Draginja Vuksanovic Stankovic were threatened.
Capture the flag in the Montenegrin way
After these threats, an incident happened in Cetinje when a nun threw the Montenegrin national flag. Aleksandar Sasa Zekovic of 21. Maj Civic Movement immediately questioned this and called on the authorities to react. This resulted in the prompt reaction of the minister, Filip Adzic, who said that the case was immediately processed and that a criminal complaint was filed. The reaction was fierce. After the column by Andrej Nikolaidis, who called for the mass hanging of flags on Montenegrin churches, first in Cetinje, and then in other places, a mass action was taken to cover churches and monasteries with Montenegrin flags. Some of them were real, some were virtual and projected. Now we should expect this to happen outside of Cetinje as well. In Kotor, Herceg Novi, Bar, Budva, Berane…
Attack on journalists
However, even this could not pass without an incident. Church defenders recruited by various extremist organizations modeled on the Russian Sorok-Sorokov, were just waiting for an opportunity to play the policemen. Yesterday, some of them attacked journalists from Gradska TV and Pobjeda on their way to the Cetinje monastery. These are the media, which, together with us, the Prime Minister accuses of fascism and extremism.
