When it comes to religious tourism, the Dean of the Budva Faculty for Business and Tourism, Prof. Rade Ratkovic, says that Montenegro has no tangible results.
“Some people deal with it periodically, but it’s not a real religious tourism, more like monastery tours – mostly visits to Ostrog Monastery. It’s not a pilgrimage or something like that, rather a trip focusing on monasteries,” Mr Rarkovic tells Pobjeda daily.
He points out that Montenegro doesn’t have a specific strategy for religious tourism, as it’s within the general one, adding that it’s hard to carry out any initiative because it’s difficult to cooperate with churches and monasteries.
