Since the amended Law on Temporary Child Support entered into force, 33 requests for the use of money from the Alimony Fund have been submitted, and so far, only one has been positively resolved. CdM was told this by the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare headed by Naida Nisic.
For the needs of the Alimony Fund, the 2024 Budget foresees funds in the amount of €1m.
Proof that the child support debtor has not settled the child support obligation in the future will be the executive document issued by the public bailiff.
Social work centers may, according to the Law, ask for other evidence to establish the factual situation, depending on the individual case, and they will determine the deadline by which the applicant must supplement the request.
The amendments to the Law provide that children of foreigners with approved temporary or permanent residence, as well as asylum seekers and foreigners under subsidiary protection who reside in the territory of the state, have the right to temporary support, provided that the enforcement document of the public bailiff is issued by a competent state authority.
