At today’s session of the Parliament of Montenegro, DPS MP Nikola Milovic said that the data on the number of employees in the Municipality of Budva was both alarming and devastating.
In a response to Mr Milovic’s question in parliament, the Finance Minister Novica Vukovic showed spreadsheets of the number of employees in local self-governments, including enterprises and organizations founded by local governments, until 31 December 2023.

According to Mr Milovic, the figures submitted by Minister Vukovic were alarming, particularly those concerning the Municipality of Budva.
“In Budva, a total of 495 persons have been employed in the municipality’s administration unit, 331 persons in public institutions, while 850 persons have been recruited in enterprises founded by this municipality. Niksic, Bijelo Polje and Kolasin together can’t reach 850 employees. So there’s a total of 1.676 employees, which wouldn’t be a problem if only we had good management there,” Mr Milovic warned.
He reminded that Budva had to allocate €10 million a year to pay these 1.676 persons employed for an indefinite period of time and over 500 temporary people.
