In Montenegro, the implementation of the order on the time period and the road, i.e. road sections where the use of winter tires is mandatory for all motor vehicles, starts today, 15 November 2024.
“The Law on Road Traffic Safety stipulates that from 15 November to 1 April, all vehicles that participate in traffic during winter conditions (snowfall or when there is snow or ice on the road) must have tires for winter use”, announced the Police Directorate (UP).
The minimum tread depth of tires used in this period is four millimeters.
In the following days, until the weather conditions change, traffic police officers will use preventive activities to warn drivers about the obligation to own and use winter equipment.
