At today’s 60th cabinet meeting, the Government unanimously adopted the Barometar 26 platform. On that occasion, Prime Minister Milojko Spajic said that the Government’s hand was extended to all those who want Montenegro in the European Union by 2028.
In a video address, Spajic says that this document affirms the joint commitment of key parliamentary political actors in Montenegro to cooperate with the aim of successfully concluding accession negotiations with the EU by the end of 2026.
He also says that sensitive, socially polarizing issues that could represent digressions and political dead ends, i.e. issues that would divert the focus from the EU accession process, will not be actualized in the parliamentary discourse without a broad social consensus, which, as he emphasizes, can articulate through the resolution mechanism.
The government unanimously adopted Barometer 26 – proof of the political maturity of Montenegro and the joint determination of all actors of the majority to prioritize the state interest and conclude negotiations with the EU by 2026, Spajic posted on the X network.
“Focus on reforms, consensus on key issues and strengthening good-neighbourly relations – our hand is extended!”, says Spajic.
