Last night, the word “resignation” caused great nervousness of Interior Minister Danilo Saranovic. After yesterday’s tragedy in Cetinje, in which Aco Martinovic killed 12 people, including two children, and seriously wounded four, when asked if someone would be held accountable for moral reasons and resign, he said that it was “arbitrary, journalist’s personal conclusion”, but also that such things happen all over the world.
Saranovic assured that every police officer, who participated in all of this, “was ready to risk his own life today as well as any other day in order to save the lives of everyone else”.
In response to a question about his resignation, Saranovic said that such things happen all over the world.
“You have to make a distinction, first of all, between serious crimes against life and the body, which are carried out by members of organized criminal groups who are released. So, these are situational events. This person, who has now passed away after attempting suicide, was related or friendly with a large number of victims. I’m just asking you how and in what way could the police prevent someone who, according to the information we receive, spent the whole day in a friendly atmosphere with most of these victims”, said Saranovic.
Yesterday, Aco Martinovic killed 12 people, including two children, at five locations in Cetinje.
The public asks how he managed to kill people for hours at multiple locations without the police reacting earlier.
