In 2024, a total of 5.803 adult domestic violence offenders were reported in Montenegro, according to the latest data of the Statistical Office of Montenegro (MONSTAT). Of this number, 4.709 were identified, whereas 1.094 of them were not. Domestic violence is the most common crime in our country, men making up the majority of perpetrators.
According to available data, the indictment was filed against 1.752 adults, whereas 1.675 of them were convicted of this crime.
Of 4.709 reported perpetrators, 87% of them (4.097 persons) were men, while the remaining 13% (612 persons) were women.
Among the convicts, 1.515 were men and 160 women.
