Ćacislavlje

Deset do osam

(*Ćacislavlje, a term blending Ćaci and Orthodoxy; Ćaci– a newly coined slang term in Serbia originating from a 2025 graffiti spelling mistake, later used in political discourse as a derogatory label for ruling-party supporters and counter-protest participants, and more broadly as a satirical internet term for perceived politically compliant or uninformed individuals)

Good morning! Former Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic is an extraordinarily brave man. Coming from such an environment and reacting to pressure the way he did is something only a typical Montenegrin can do. The way Krivokapic—as a consistent successor to the mission of Metropolitan Amfilohije—was stabbed in the back by his until-yesterday friends and comrades-in-arms irresistibly recalls the experience of Christ, as conveyed by the New Testament.

Following the Serbian Patriarch’s stay in Podgorica, one cannot escape the impression that the top leadership of the Church of Serbia has almost no support among the faithful in Montenegro. While the religious processions organised by the MCP (Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral) remain massive, almost no one turned up to welcome the Patriarch. However, everyone from the Montenegrin dioceses who is allegedly disobedient and who is regularly blasted by the Serbian nationalist press close to the authorities in Serbia, did show up.

But this text is not about them. This is a text about Zdravko Krivokapic, who has once again been crucified. Remember how they crucified his family in Belgrade, while the brothers of Dritan Abazovic and Jakov Milatovic were developing businesses across Serbia.

Remember how Rakovic and his crew insulted Amfilohije in the lowest of ways, almost like in 1998 when Momir’s SNP members called him “Amfilohije the Turk.”

If the crew from Belgrade keeps this up, they will reduce the Serbian heritage in Montenegro to Serbian minority politics.

Even though many are disowning Krivokapic these days, just as Saint Peter denied Christ three times before the rooster crowed, everything will return to how it was. “Ćacislavlje” under Patriarch Porfirije is losing support not only among believers in Montenegro, but in Serbia as well.

Grigorije and his crew are not loud or clear enough for the public to fully recognise them as critical voices. Even after a bishop was recently dismissed, and despite the repeated mistakes of the church leadership, no one has clearly stood up and spoken out the way Zdravko Krivokapic did.

In the lead-up to the 2022 minority government of Dritan, DPS, and SDP, I warned that we might end up missing Krivokapic dearly. And every piece of news like this reminds me that I was right to pose that question.

The regime in Serbia is desperate and ready for desperate moves. Even though Vucic appears ridiculous and foolish to Montenegrin tastes, let us not forget how bizarre and diabolical the Serbian security apparatus can be.

Expect pressures, blackmail, disinformation campaigns, and the pollution of the information space. Expect a show at the Summit in Tivat. Expect Knezevic and Zivkovic at the head of the committee to welcome the “Vozd” (leader) from Belgrade. Expect an intensification of pressure on the media and the public.

Because of this, we must see if unity and a minimum of cohesion can be achieved in any way to resist the madness that has gripped Serbia, the region, and the world. Since Vucic restored Milosevic’s regime, it feels as though we are living in the Twilight Zone.

That is all for today. We wish you a pleasant rest of the day.
