Montenegrin police carried out enhanced border checks at Tivat Airport, where around 90 Serbian nationals arriving on a charter flight from Belgrade were temporarily detained for inspection. The aircraft was held on the runway while authorities verified the passengers’ reasons for entry and stay in the country.

According to the police, the operation is part of heightened security measures ahead of the EU–Western Balkans Summit in Tivat. Unofficial reports suggested possible links to hybrid activities and that some passengers might be denied entry and returned to Belgrade, though this has not been officially confirmed.

Police stated that all actions are being carried out in line with the law and that further measures will depend on the outcome of the ongoing checks.
