Ratification of the Montenegro’s NATO Accession Protocol by the US Senate is a big day for Montenegro, as the world’s largest democracy has confirmed efforts of our state policy, said Foreign Minister Srdjan Darmanovic.
“We believe that the ratification process and our accession to the alliance will be completed by the summit in May. Thus, Montenegro will achieve one of its strategic goals – NATO membership,” he added.
Darmanovic said the second goal of the Montenegrin policy – membership in the EU would be achieved after that.
“This completes the cycle that began by the state independence restoration, when the people of Montenegro were promised this path towards the privileged circles and developed countries,” he said.
