More than €1m for former MPs

Former speaker of Parliament of Montenegro Darko Pajovic waived his right to use benefits – security guards, car and phone for half a year after termination of office on 7 November and about €1,500 allowance for a year. Unlike him, 36 MPs of the former Parliament composition took the allowance, the Parliament confirmed for CdM.

There is another interesting figure behind the number 36 (whose names and the amount of monthly allowance follow). It is about €1,274,143.81. This is how much money we will pay to them until 7 November 2017.

There are no allowances lower than €1,400. And the list includes all of them – MPs of the former ruling coalition and opposition MPs – starting from DPS over DF, SDP, SNP, Positive Montenegro, minority parties to Demos, URA and SD.

About €61,000 is spent for their allowances a month.

“For the period from 8 November 2016 to 7 November 2017, €745,375.15 net, (or €1,274,143.81 gross) has been allocated for this purpose if all MPs take advantage of this right, the Parliament stated.
