Last night was a tough one for the members of the Civil Protection and Rescue Service – 34 fires in the area of Podgorica were extinguished. Strong wind made the work even more difficult.

There is still an active fire in the Malo Brdo neighbourhood. The fire that broke out in this part of the city last night was quite large.
As the Fire Department representatives told CdM this morning, its teams are in the Beri and Piperi villages.

The smell of fire and smoke is felt throughout the city.

Dozens of firefighters have struggled to save houses since yesterday at 4pm when the fires broke out.
The most difficult situation was in the Dajbabe suburb, where locals and firefighters barely managed to protect homes. Houses in the Pricelje village were also endangered.
It was hot on the Zelenika hill as well. The street leading to the Tolosi neighbourhood was closed for traffic last night because of the fire that broke out in the Blok 5 neighbourhood and spread towards the Toloska forest.
