High Court in Podgorica extended custody to DF leader of Andrija Mandic’s driver, Mihailo Cadjenovic. His attorney Miroje Jovanovic said that he would urgently appeal against the court’s decision.
“The High Court in Podgorica stated that Mihailo Cadjenovic was remanded in custody in order ‘not to repeat the criminal offense’. I ask that court how it comes that exactly the same risk does not exist in the case of Sindjelic’s mysterious friend Milos Jovanovic as well. Jovanovic is free in Serbia although he is charged in the same case,” Sindjelic’s attorney Jovanovic said.
He claims that the High Court has presented no reasons for such a decision.
“Therefore, I will urgently appeal against the decision on detention and I expect the Appellate Court to adopt it. Even under the Montenegrin constitution, and, of course, under international conventions, custody is an exceptional measure, and it has to be as short as possible. In the fake coup case, custody is used as a method of pressure against the remanded persons to admit offences they did not commit and to falsely accuse innocent people,” Jovanovic said.
