The Democratic Front (DF) sent a letter to supreme state prosecutor Ivica Stankovic in which they asked to review the basis for eavesdropping of the leaders of that political group.
DF official Predrag Bulatovic said that the chief special state prosecutor Milivoje Katnic had him and NOVA leader Andrija Mandic eavesdropped at one Podgorica-based cafe.
“We will bring the issue of secret monitoring and eavesdropping to an end. Yesterday, the special state prosecutor did not explain how the transcripts of the conversation among me, Mandic and a third person ended up on the prosecutor’s office website. We demand Ivica Stankovic to tell us why we were being monitored and eavesdropped. We suspect Milivoje Katnic is behind the eavesdropping, which he made to make new fabrications,” Bulatovic said.
Movement for Changes (PzP) leader Nebojsa Medojevic said that what the prosecutor’s office’s deeds were scandalous and an unprecedented thing in the country that is a candidate for EU membership.
“The spirit of a one-party system and dictatorship is back in Montenegro, and international institutions will be informed about that,” said Medojevic.
Mandic said that he was sure Katnic himself was behind the eavesdropping of DF officials.
“We urge them to remove the transcripts from the site or to publish transcripts of whole conversations,” Mandic said.
He urged Katnic to publish a transcript of communication between him and prosecutor Sasa Cadjenovic in which “he advised him to suggest Dikic who to accuse”.
