All the fires on the territory if the Bar municipality are finally under control after the extremely tiring and uncertain 24 hours.

Head of the Emergency Situations Directorate Mirsad Mulic told Bar Info that there were no endangered people or facilities and that all roads were clear.

“However, the problem has not been completely solved. This night requires much attention and caution. All teams are on the ground and they will remain there all night long. The locals are well organised. Also, all other entities involved in fire extinguishing have done a good job. The result is that we have succeeded in turning the critical situation into a good one,” Mulic said.

According to Mulic, the situation is stable on the Pastrovacka Gora mountain as well.

Yesterday, three aircraft of the Emergency Situations Directorate were engaged on fire extinguishing.

The fire threatened to endanger numerous houses.

A Polish tourist was arrested yesterday over setting a hill on fire while trying to signalise where he got lost and thus get help.

More than 300 centuries old olive trees have been destroyed in the fire.

The damage is huge and irreversible, and no one can return the trees that have survived for more than 500 years in this area.
