Electricity debt €170m

At the end of October the electricity debt of Montenegrin households was €124.06m. At the same time, companies owed €46.74m, the Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG) stated.

The biggest debts were accumulated by households in Bijelo Polje and Niksic whereas households in Herceg Novi and Tivat had the lowest debt.

Since the beginning of the year, the power company has launched 8,674 enforcement orders worth €6.8m in total.

The Interior Ministry has been among the debtors EPCG filed charges before the Commercial Court against. Its electricity debt amounts to €103,600.

The company said that thanks to the company’s campaigns, overall debt was significantly reduced.

The campaigns include the “Share Burden” which allows consumers to pay their debts in instalments.
