The secretary of the National Security Council Veselin Veljovic did not abuse his office when selling the Zlatica camp, the Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT) has established on the basis of expert findings.
According to Pobjeda’s sources, the investigation against Veljovic has been completed and it has not been established that he was responsible for the multi-million euro cost to the budget caused when the facility was sold.
On the contrary, as the sources were told, Veljovic warned then that the project was not good for the state and that there might be a harm caused.
Nevertheless, the case of selling the Zlatica camp has not been completely closed for other suspects. Expert analyses are being made and it is being determined how the land was registered in the cadastre and whether it was sold for a lower sum than it was worth.
The camp was bought during the prime minister Igor Luksic’s term of office. He was then the chairman of the Privatisation Council as well. Apart from Luksic, the lawsuit was filed against Miomir Mugosa, the former mayor of Podgorica and businessman Zarko Buric.
