A 7.0 magnitude earthquake has hit the north of Montenegro earlier today.
“The earthquake happened at 2:05pm and had an intensity of 4.0 degrees on the Richter scale. The epicenter was located in Plav. The quake could have caused minor material damages in the epicentral area, “ Montenegro’s Seismological Observatory stated.
A tremor measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale was registered, i.e. 6.0 on the Modified Mercalli Scale. The earthquake occurred at depth near the earth’s surface to 9km deep.
Several earthquakes hit Montenegro over the past month.
