In the statements given to the Deputy Basic State Prosecutor in Plav, Drita Rugovac, reviewed by the daily “Vikend Novine”, the four delegates claimed they had been given to sign the document they believed to be a party’s respond to the statements of the DPS MP Nikola Gegaj.
In his statement, Miralem Feratovic said the SDP Municipal Board in Plav had probably misunderstood and wrongly interpreted what he had told them about his conversation with a neighbour.
“I have told them that a neighbour had asked me who I would vote for at the party congress. As far as I know, she is not member of any political party”, Feratovic said, mentioning the neighbour’s name.
Hasim Ahmemulic stresses that no one of the DPS officials had contacted him, including Husnija Sabovic, Amela Cekic and Samir Cekic.
“I claim it is not true that anyone threatened me or offered me a job or money. I learnt about that from the media and I emphasise again that is not true. I’m an independent entrepreneur, owner of a hairdressing salon, materially well situated”, Ahmemulic said.
Fadilj Music went further and said he would not be SDP member any long, adding that he had learnt about bribery and threats from the media. He also claimed he had been given to sign a piece of paper while working in the field.
“Since I was tired, I signed it without reading. I had been previously informed by Dzavid Sabovic that it was a denial of an MP’s statement. Since I trusted Dzavid, I did not read what I signed”, Music told the Prosecutor.
“I learnt from the media about threats and offering jobs and money by DPS officials. I was shocked because it was not true”, Music said.
Mirsad Nekovic says that, unlike his predecessors, he spoke to Husnija Sabovic in his pizzeria.
“We talked for about ten minutes and he told me his opinion on the candidates at the SDP Congress. I expressed my opinion”, Nekovic said, adding that Husnija Sabovic did not threaten either him or members of his family or his daughter Irena who was a delegate at the congress. He said Sabovic had not offered jobs or money to them either.
