Barovic: Maybe I am collateral damage in certain political conflicts in Montenegro

“Maybe I am collateral damage in certain political conflicts in Montenegro, but I will undoubtedly respect every decision of the competent authorities,” Mr Barovic said, adding that the criminal charges against him were dismissed and that he was not the one who offered settlement to the Prosecution, but they did it.

Yesterday the Government decided to propose dismissal of Rajko Barovic from the position of the director of the Public Enterprise for Coastal Zone Management.

“The Government has concluded that it was suggested to the Government’s representatives in the Public Enterprise for Coastal Zone Management through the Commission for Human Resources and Administrative Affairs to raise the issue of remaining in office of the director Rajko Barovic, due to the settlement he made with the Prosecution within the institute of deferred prosecution,” it was released after the yesterday’s session.

Namely, on July 22nd Mr Barovic agreed to donate 7,000 to charity in order of the Special Prosecutor’s Office not to prosecute him for illegal providing lease on beaches. Since June 23rd, Milivoje Katnic has been at the head of the Special Prosecutor’s Office.
