Bijela: Cedo Popovic got decision on continuing works on a new hotel

According to the owner of “Carine”, Cedo Popovic, the new hotel should be put into operation by the next summer season, Radio Jadran carried.

The old Hotel Park was demolished shortly before the start of this summer season, and the works had to be cancelled due to the prohibition of construction works. The investor of the new hotel, the company “Carine”, has announced on several occasions that the works will be continued on September 1st.

“Today we have received a decision on continuation of works, including the demolition, i.e. removal of material left from the old hotel. Of course, all of that falls under construction, since excavation of the ground will be performed during the removal of the material and I expect we will work continuously without standing”, Mr Popovic said.

He could not specify how many workers and machinery are to be engaged, but as in case of the demolition, the earthwork and delivery of concrete will be performed by the company “Kruso Niskogradnja doo”.

Mr Popovic said that the works were developing as planned and that in the coming period they were to make an agreement on iron supply.

He added that the four-star hotel with 225 rooms in Bijela would be finished by May 2016.

His company was the only bidder in the tender call for selling the old hotel and the facility known as the “Kuca Djurkovica” (House of the Djurkovics) with outbuildings and land, as well as for leasing 3,100 m2 park. Sale price of the complex was 2.25 million. Investments in the minimum amount of 6.5 million have been defined by the contract. The park has been leased for 30 years and full protection and valorisation have been guaranteed for that area.

Mr Popovic pointed out that the study on greenery had been done and that special attention was paid to the park area. He also guaranteed that all plants would be saved and later brought back there.
