The Capital City invested more than €400.000 in facilities and access roads in order to make stay in schools and kindergartens as comfortable as possible for children in Podgorica, said Mayor, Mr Ivan Vuković, while visiting works on education institutions in Podgorica.
As Representatives of Podgorica Office said, Mr Vuković is satisfied with the implementation of a whole set of projects aimed at improving conditions in elementary schools and kindergartens.
“One of the projects referred to the reconstruction of Velimir Stojanović Street. Total value of works exceeds €80.000″, said Mayor.
The problem of flooding in the yard of “Radojica Perović”, elementary school has been solved thanks to great commitment of city enterprises Water Supply and sewerage system and Roads.
“We’ve got new absorbent well, manholes and a plateau which was asphalted so that pupils can go to school even when the weather is bad”, said Mr Vuković.
Capital City Administration hasn’t neglected schools in suburban settlements and in the countryside.
“Department of “Oktoih” elementary school in Dajbabe has been adapted. The school now has new floors, new sanitary premises. We are particularly happy that the facility of “Savo Kažić” elementary school in Barutana has been connected to water supply grid”, said Mr Vuković.

Two capital investments realized in this cycle refer to construction and reconstruction of streets leading to schools – from the new boulevard in Donja Gorica towards “Vlado Milić” elementary school and VIII crnogorske brigade St. which is in front of “Božidar Vuković Podgoričanin” elementary school.
“Reconstruction of these two streets cost over €250.000 plus additional €30.000 for the renewal of horizontal and vertical signalization”, pointed out Mayor.
He reminded of the successful cooperation Capital city has with Mr Veselin Mijač who has been living and working in Sweden for several decades. Mr Mijač deserves credit for rearranging one of the oldest schools in Podgorica, “Milorad Musa Burzan”.
“We are welcoming new school year ready and all thanks to people in our Capital companies and our partners from Ministry of Education”, said Mr Vuković.
