Montenegro will continue to meet EU agenda requirements we expect more decisive European support for our reform processes, said chief negotiator, Mr Aleksandar Drljević.
He had separate meetings with the ambassador of Turkey, Ms Songul Ozan and with the ambassador of Romania, Mr Ferdinand Nadj.
Mr Drljević said he was glad that the enlargement policy was in the focus of the European Commission again.
Interlocutors exchanged views on the formation of new WC and key directions of its five-year long mandate. They also discussed repercussions of the EU failure to open membership talks with North Macedonia and Albania, proposal made by France to create new methodology in the negotiation process as well as “Mini-Schengen” initiative.
“It is very important for Montenegro that EC recognized and praises Montenegro’s results. We stay committed to cherishing stable neighborly relations and sharing experience for the sake of the region and its citizens”, said Mr Drljević.
Ms Ozan agreed that support for the states and their EU aspirations was very important for further progress. She praised Montenegro as leader in the process. Mr Nadj confirmed that Montenegro’s progress was unquestionable.
