According to the latest data from the Employment Agency, 51,893 unemployed persons are registered in Montenegro, 8,925 of which are high school students, 308 are MA holders and 12 PhD holders.
According to analyst Vasilije Kostic, these figures are worrisome and the state should pay special attention to the problem of unemployed young people.
“Bearing in mind that unemployment represents a kind of exclusion of the unemployed from socio-economic flows with serious socio-economic and psychosocial consequences both for them and the overall socio-economic development, this problem should be given special attention. Having in mind the structural character of the problem, short-term measures cannot make a significant improvement, so this particular problem requires a special comprehensive systemic attention,” Kostic said.
