Since the beginning of this year, the health inspectors have filed complaints against 38 parents who refused to have their children vaccinated, the Inspection Directorate told Dan.
It points out that the largest number of parents was registered in Podgorica, then Niksic, Berane and Herceg Novi.
According to Public Health Institute, 52% of children born in 2016 still haven’t received the MMR vaccine, which jeopardizes the collective immunity among the youngest population.
The fines stipulated for refusing to have children vaccinated range from €100 to €2,000.
Since the beginning of the year, the total of six persons infected with measles have been registered in Montenegro.
