During 2017, electricity was illegally consumed by more than 400 consumers, and the total value of stolen electricity was over €530,000, the Montenegrin Power Distribution System (CEDIS) told Dan.

As the company said, the illegal consumption was lower than in 2016 when it was calculated that the debt was about €630,000. The most of unauthorised consumption was registered in Niksic, whereas in 2016 it was the case with Podgorica.

CEDIS emphasises that Energy Law prohibits illegal electricity consumption and obliges CEDIS to stop the delivery of electricity to a customer and to take other measures in accordance with the law, if it finds out theft was committed.
