Port in Bar will get several facilities with different purposes within the terminal intended for command goods and in the economic zone that belongs to a company in Bar.
Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism has approved of the urban and technical requirements for the development of technical documentation on the basis of which this company is going to build, reconstruct or repurpose facilities in the planned zone.
As official documents of the Directorate for construction state, the construction within the terminal for command goods was planned in the parcel defined as surface for industry and production.
“When the expected volume of works is impossible to be foreseen, as it is the case in the gravity area of the Port, it is at the same time impossible to calculate minimum costs. In that case, it is recommended that additional 40% of reserve capacities are provided. If that reserve is under 25%, it is a bad thing under any circumstances”, the expert analysis of capacity and the surface of storage facilities indicates.
Construction of facilities intended for industry and production was planned in the port zone which is now in its first phase of the economic zone in Bar.
“Beside goods terminal, there is going to be a production and trade business system in the port zone. The system will be intended for the development of activities related to export-import affairs. They require specific procedures concerning customs and control, servicing and maintenance”.
According to the announcements of potential investments, a whole set of infrastructure facilities necessary for the future operations of the Port and its collaborators will be constructed.
A container terminal will be built in the new part of the port, as well as the system for transshipment and storage of natural fluid gas in the area of 2 hectares. Other planned facilities include production facilities for pre-fabrication of modules intended for the construction of residential facilities, trade and distribution center, warehouses covering 14.066 square meters, factories for the production of olive oil covering 4.155 square meters, grain tanks with the capacity of 30.000 tonnes and facility for cereal processing.
Existing warehouses for special cargo, with a total surface area of 1.619 square meters, will be reconstructed. Bigovica will remain a location for exploitation of stone.
Northern part of Volujica will be recovered and facilities covering 78.000 square meters for transshipment and storage of dispersed, fluid cargo and gas will be built in the hinterland of the hill. There will also be a reservoir for acetic acid storage and four silos for cement.
The existing reservoir for base oil will be repurposed – it will be used for oil derivatives. Free zone of the port will see the construction of universal port warehouses and cold storage. Sidro hotel nearby will be reconstructed.
