By returning the laws to re-examination, the President of Montenegro, Mr Milo Đukanović, earned a yellow card, Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Dritan Abazović, stated today.
“If he [Đukanović] violates the Constitution, we will dismiss him,” Mr Abazović tweeted.
President Đukanovič stated earlier today that he had returned all laws adopted on 29 December 2020 back to the Parliament of Montenegro and had demanded their re-examination, indicating that “it’s doubtful whether there was the required quorum at the beginning of the sitting and during the adoption of the agenda, and there’s the issue of democratic legitimacy as well and harmonization of the adopted laws with the Constitution of Montenegro and valid regulations”.
