Admitting a mistake
Today we all know that the security of Milan Knezevic attacked Gardaseviv. We didn’t all know that the day before yesterday. If there were no cameras, even today the majority of the public would be convinced that the people of Cetinje attacked Knezevic.
At first, the phenomenon occurred that a part of the public immediately condemned the violence and the attack on Knezevic, but also called on the police to investigate the incident to the end. Guided by principle, but also by a kind of empathy, because they themselves were the target of attacks and threats, a part of the people without hesitation condemned what was reported by Knezevic as an attack. They sided with the one who claimed to be the victim. In addition, they wanted to show by example that they are not the same as Knezevic and his comrades, who never condemned the attack on the other side. They wanted to send a message that violence is not the answer. They made a mistake. With the best of intentions. A mistake towards the Gardasevic family.
Milan Knezevic proved once again that he has no scruples and that he is ready to trample on people in order to implement his political agenda. Dritan Abazovic’s best friend planned and staged the attack, not thinking about how he could destroy the life of a family. He, as a man of position and power, a man who has access to the media, decided to use everything from his inventory to deal with an “ordinary” citizen. The prosecuting authorities immediately sided with him and the prosecutor ordered a detention of 72 hours for the guy who was falsely accused by Knezevic. At the moment, I admit, I was also deceived by Knezevic’s reaction. I remembered the video of his mother being taken into custody and felt sorry. Although I despise everything Knezevic does, I would never support violence against him or anyone else.
Why I despise everything that Knezevic does – because he uses the lucidity and intellect that God gave him to raise tensions in society, not shying away from violent behavior. The first thing that many remembered was the physical attack on the late Misko Vukovic, a man who at that moment could not defend himself equally. Even then, he was fighting an illness that caused him to leave too soon. He called his political opponents “Ustasha”, insulted Albanians in the parliamentary rostrum, called his country and North Macedonia “deceased countries”, glorified Putin and Kadyrov and their methods of fighting against political dissidents. The man was convicted in the first instance for conspiracy to overthrow the government by force. Despite all this and much more, Knezevic and his organization were not on BIRN’s map.
Now the most important thing – we have material proof that Knezevic’s security initiated the attack on Gardasevic, which proves their guilt, but also the false reporting. Will the prosecutor order the detention of Knezevic’s companions, will he initiate criminal proceedings against Knezevic and initiate the lifting of immunity. This criminal act of his was witnessed by the whole nation.
Milan Knezevic taught us an important lesson with this, which is not to jump to conclusions and not to automatically show solidarity with public figures. If the Gardasevics did not have loud friends in Cetinje and if there were no cameras, today an innocent man would be in prison. Let that serve as a warning to us all.
