If by September 6th there are no grounded objections, bankruptcy management of Jadran shipyard Bijela will conclude a contract with Adriatic Marinas-Damen consortium, pertaining to conditions of sale of the part of the property. Bijela’s property will be sold for €2.5 million, said bankruptcy manager Zarko Ostojic to Weekend Edition of Dnevne Novine daily.
He said that the property, consisting of 48 facilities and some equipment, was a subject of sale in five previous public calls, but there were no interested parties.
The news of sale to the owners of Porto Montenegro and their partner from Netherlands was announced by the prime minister Dusko Markovic on Tuesday. It is expected that the construction will improve the yachting industry in Montenegro and enable employment for numerous Montenegrin citizens, including former workers of Jadran shipyard.
“Bankruptcy management cannot define the conditions for the activities of the buyer, but it is reasonable to expect some former workers to find employment in this company again”, Ostojic said.
Adriatic Marinas has been managed by a state investment fund from Dubai since last year. They did not comment on the details of the new business, saying they are expecting the procedure in the Commercial Court to be finalized.
“We regard this project as a natural continuation of our successful business in Porto Montenegro”, said Adriatic Marinas PR Danilo Kalezic.
Markovic stated on Tuesday that a company for repair and construction of yachts is planned, with great capacities and four modern repair workshops.
Adriatic Marinas-Damen need to pay €2.5 million within 70 days to the account of the bankruptcy manager, and the largest amount of the money will go to Montenegrin commercial bank CKB, that has a right to the facilities sold.
The bankruptcy in Jadran shipyard Bijela was announced on June 30th 2015 per the request of CKB. Sixth public call for sale of the rest of the property will be open until September 8th.
