A large fire broke out on the territory of the Municipality of Rožaje over the past few days. Beside the Security and Rescue Team employees, volunteers from this town, as well as employees of the Forest Administration helped to battle bushfires. During today’s investigation, it was discovered that in three cases electrical power problems caused them, while others were set intentionally.
The competent bodies are trying to discover who set bushfires.
“All bushfires on the territory of Rožaje have been extinguished,“ chief officer in the Security and Rescue Team of Rožaje, Mr Nuradin Agović, told RTV Rožaje.
According to him, volunteers from Rožaje, employees and equipment of municipal companies, as well as humanitarian organizations provided considerable support in extinguishing bushfires.
Having in mind that large bushfires hit the Municipality of Rožaje over the past two days, an extraordinary session of the government’s Coordination Body for the suppression of illegal forest practices was held yesterday.
It was noted that competent bodies responded timely when it comes to extinguishing fires and after gathering all the necessary information, they will see whether fires happened as a result of omission of an individual on duty.
