Raspberry producers in Bijelo Polje won’t throw out their products anymore since the decision has been made that all quantities be bought up.
Angry raspberry seller from Bijelo Polje, Sead Hodžić, decided yesterday to sell his raspberry patch of 80 ares, due to the low price of purchase. Furious raspberry producers spilled yesterday several dozens of crates of raspberries.
Mayor of the municipality of Bijelo Polje, Petar Smolović says that the problem has been solved.
“Everything’s alright now. We’ve committed to protect the citizens and the farmers. Everything seen as excess will be distributed to refrigerators in Mojkovac, Pljevlja, Berane and Rožaje”, said Smolović.
The problem occurred as a consequence of the lack of refrigerators.
“We made a deal that no matter the quantity of raspberries, every kilogram will be put into the refrigerators. Excess quantities will be put into refrigerators in other municipalities and we’ve agreed on that matter as well. Citizens are satisfied”, said Smolović.
