Almost 464.000 of overnights for nine months

Our biggest tourism company, hotel group “Budva Riviera”, finished successfully the main part of this year’s tourism season. According to the CEO, Katarina Kažanegra, it was the first six-month season for hotels “Aleksandar”, “Castellastva” and “Slovenska plaža”, and “Palas” will keep on working. Big plans are ahead, reconstruction of hotel “Mogren” among many others.

Hotels of the group “Budva Riviera” started this year’s season with opening of the hotel “Aleksandar” first, and then hotel “Castellastva” and tourism settlement “Slovenska plaža” on 28 April.

“For the first time, hotel “Palas” worked during the whole year, thanks to the new offer and conceptually adapted arrangements. Around 464.000 of overnights were recorded in nine months. We are now finishing the sub-season period with great results, with more than 20.000 overnights in October”, said Kažanegra.

As she pointed out, these results exceeded the planned numbers. This season was also marked with great effort in finding qualified workforce for season jobs.

“HG “Budva Riviera” projected 595 workers. However, at one moment this number amounted over 600. Despite all the problems and obstacles, the company mostly employs domestic workforce through the Employment Agency of Montenegro”, says Kažanegra.

More than 40 million EUR has been invested in the reconstruction of the hotel group so far.

“Tourism industry is constantly improving and it’s very difficult to follow the innovation in the offer if you don’t invest in the quality of services. HG “Budva Riviera” started the adaptation process 10 years ago. It’s a very demanding project but turns out that the quality brought great results and set new standards in the tourism offer of Montenegro”, said Kažanegra.

New investments brought new emitting markets as well.

“In addition, forms of club hotels became popular. For example, family hotel Toucan Club is part of “Castellastva” in Petrovac. Apart from investments in the hotel, quality of tourism product also included the introduction of new standards. After obtaining the certificate ECO LABEL and implementation of HAACP standard, “Budva Riviera ” is among the first tourism houses which introduced ISO standards in quality management, environment protection management, and food safety management. These days we’re expecting Travel Life certificate which is another confirmation of the orientation towards the markets of North-Western Europe”, said Kažanegra.
