The Ministry of Justice overturned the decision passed in June 2020, when the verdict for the former inspector general of the National Security Agency, Artan Kurti, was deleted from the criminal record, and his name was re-entered in that register, Vijesti has reported.
The Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions and the Control of Criminal and Misdemeanor Records opened at the end of March the administrative procedure for the mandatory annulment of the decision of the Ministry of Justice dated 8 June 2020, when the decision was made to delete Kurti from the criminal records for the criminal offense, by which he was finally convicted by the decision of the High Court in Podgorica in September 2009.
The Ministry of Justice initiated the procedure for mandatory annulment of the decision because it believes that “in accordance with Article 100 of the Law on Administrative Procedure, the conditions for initiating the procedure ex officio have been met”.
In his statement to Vijesti, Artan Kurti said that the Ministry of Justice’s decision was “scandalous”.
