Police and army are still searching for a double murder suspect, Alija Balijagic. He is wanted by police and army of both Montenegro and Serbia in connection with a murder committed on 25 October in the town of Bijelo Polje.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Montenegro points out that the search for the fugitive Balijagic is carried out by members of the elite police and military units – Anti-Terrorist Unit, Special Police Unit, Special Purpose Unit, Border Police, officers of the Regional Center security SJEVER (North), with the involvement of helicopters of the Ministry of the Interior and the Army of Montenegro, drones, thermal imaging cameras and sniffer dogs.
On average, around 200 police officers and over 70 members of the Army of Montenegro have been included in the search for Balijagic.
Police forces in Serbia have also intensified their search for Balijagic, suspected of killing two people, brother and sister Jovan and Milanka Madzgalj.
Serbia’s President, Aleksandar Vucic, said last night he was convinced they would arrest Alija Balijagic.
