Bar residents strongly oppose destruction of a park

Representatives of the Initiative counting over 2721 signatures of Bar residents submitted a petition to the members of the local parliament and education minister, Damir Šehović, asking them to carefully consider Initiative’s arguments for changing the location of future pre-primary school. According to the citizens, planned location is not relevant for the construction of any facility, especially not the one that would take care of over 370 children.

“We can’t back the idea of destroying the existing park and school yards. Once again we want to emphasize that we unanimously support construction of the kindergarten our town desperately needs, but not if that means destruction of the land, especially because we know there are many other sites meeting the requirements and standards prescribed by the law.”

“We hereby kindly ask you to carefully consider all the arguments and not to accept the initial idea, and also to take into consideration the will and energy your fellow-citizens devoted during this Initiative,” the petition suggested.
