Basic court in Niksic issued a provisional decision ordering Nikola Vukcevic to be returned to the RTCG Council within three days.

“Temporary measure is determined, and the state and the Parliament of Montenegro are ordered to return Nikola Vukcevic to the post of a member of the RTCG Council within three days after receiving the decision,” the court said.

The same decision was made earlier in the case of Goran Djurovic.

As a reminder, on 23 November 2017, Parliament dismissed Vukcevic upon the proposal of the Administrative Committee after the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK) established on 10 October 2017 that he had conflict of interest.

Vukcevic appealed to the Administrative Court against the ASK’s decision. The court accepted the complaint and then said that Vukcevic was dismissed based on the non-existent violation of the law.

This decision was welcomed by representatives of NGOs. Such court decisions, in the atmosphere of unprecedented pressure from the ruling party, are a powerful impetus for the return of trust in the judiciary, it is said in a joint statement of the Centre of Development of NGOs (CRNVO), Centre for Civic Education (CGO), Institute Alternative and the Centre for Monitoring (CEMI).
